Will the Minister for Labour and Human Resources be pleased to State:-

 

Number of new hospitals and clinics have been established under SESSI for welfare of workers during 2018 to 2023?

 

ANSWER

 

MR. SHAHID ABDUS SALAM THAHEEM: MINISTER FOR LABOUR AND HUMAN RESOURCES:-

 

  1. Twenty (20) bedded Social Security Hospital Sukkur has upgraded during the year 2023.

 

II.           Fifty (50) bedded Social Security Hospital at Choundko, District Khairpur constructed by Workers welfare Board, Government of Pakistan which will functional soon after completion of minor civil work by the contractor, and facility of hospital will start once the MOU between SESSI and Gam bat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) is rectified and approved by the Governing Body (G.B) SESSI.

Number of Hospitals and dispensaries of Labour Department currently working in the province alongwith detail of facilities provided therein as on 01-01-2024?

 

ANSWER

 

MR. SHAHID ABDUS SALAM THAHEEM: MINISTER FOR LABOUR AND HUMAN RESOURCES:-

 

The Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) informed that (05) hospitals and (42) dispensaries are providing treatment and health care facilities to the secured workers and their dependents/children like vaccination/ medicines, lab investigation, surgeries consultations and follow-up treatments. The SESSI dispensaries also provide treatments as basic health unit and refers to the tertiary care SEESI hospitals provide medical treatment to Secured workers and their dependents. There are departments of medicines, General surgery, ENT, Eye, Gynae/Obstetrics/ Psychiatry, Oncology, Dermatology, Dental care, Radiology, Neurology, Orthopaedics. There are indoor and outdoor facilities for patients in the respective departments as per their requirement. The Social Security facilitates the labour workers and their families to its utmost level for better provision of health care.

 

The Mines Labour Welfare Organization (MLWO) stated that10 bedded hospital working in Lakhra District Jamshoro and one dispensary working in Jhampir Thatta. Furthermore, these health facilities provide free of cost treatment to mining workers and their families by MLWO.

  1. Have there been any complaints or instances of unfair labour practices reported in Sindh from 2018 to 2023;
  2. If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the details of the incidents of unfair labour practices reported from 2018 to 2023, along with the actions taken against them?

It is submitted that the Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) has regularized 260 employees Medical side of (SESSI) in compliance of order passed the Division Bench of Honorable High Court of Sindh, Karachi in C.P. No. 116 of 2019 and consequent consideration, with the approval of Governing Body (GB), SESSI during 2018-2023. The detail are at Annexure placed on the Table of the House.
