Will the Minister for Livestock & Fisheries be pleased to State:-
Facilities are being provided to the fishermen of Thatta as well as steps being taken by the Government of Sindh for their further betterment?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI: MINISTER FOR LIVESTOCK & FISHERIES:-
The Fishermen of District Thatta, are being facilitated with all government led facilities though regular activities and Annual Development programs, such as:
1. Government has Established 06 Jetties along with landing sheds and RO plants for fishermen for easy landing and reduce post-harvest loss.
2. Provision of fish Seed of all type on subsidize rates.
3. Training to Fisherman regarding cutting edge technology i.e. Bioflock, Cage culture, oyster and lobster farming.
4. Established Fish health center Thatta to facilitate Fishermen in fish farm screening.
5. Provision of Fishing Gears (nets) and crafts (boats), ice boxes, plastic fish crates, plastic fish baskets, out board engines and bicycles.
6. Trainings to conserve the natural fisheries resources.

(a) Is it a fact that Mubarak Village which is sea resort where fishermen are deprived from basic facilities Water, Electricity, Gas and Roads;
(b) If answer to (a) above be in the affirmative steps taken by the Government in this regard?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI: MINISTER FOR LIVESTOCK & FISHERIES:-
Partially admitted
There are less basic facilities; water is supplied through tankers, Roads need repair, school is available for both genders, health Facility and electricity are redundant since 2010.
Whereas; Livestock & Fisheries Department only facilitate the registered fishermen of coastal area in term of provision of fishing gears and fish landing facilities etc.

Whether accident safety, safe guards, Ambulance service, Doctor or Dispensary arrangement are available in Mubarak village?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI: MINISTER FOR LIVESTOCK & FISHERIES:-
No any Government Veterinary Dispensary is available nor any Veterinary doctor posted at Mubarak Village. Whereas, the Animal Health Services for Mubarak Village are being provided by the RC Veterinary Hospital MA Jinnah Road Karachi.

Will the Minister for Livestock & Fisheries be pleased to State:-
Number of cattle farms working under the jurisdiction of Sindh Government along with the number of employees/doctors working in Livestock Department as on 01-01-2024?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI: MINISTER FOR LIVESTOCK & FISHERIES:-
· Five Cattle Farms are operational in Sindh.
· Six Veterinarians and one hundred ninety four other staff members are working on these 05 functional farms.
· Another 03 Livestock Farms are established but not completely functional since the staff is not appointed yet. Details are at Annexure placed on the Table of the House.

Will the Minister for Livestock & Fisheries be pleased to State:-
(a) Is it a fact that a project of rehabilitation and renovation of Karachi Fish Harbor external (Karachi) is to be completed till June 2020;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, detail of work completed and amount spent to-date?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI: MINISTER FOR LIVESTOCK & FISHERIES:-
Yes,
The work has commenced in February 2019 by Works & Services Department. The details of work is at Annexure Placed on the Table of the House.
The total expenditure incurred is Rs.937.490 million.

Will the Minister for Livestock & Fisheries be pleased to State:-
(a) Is it a fact that a project of development of public water (Lakes) and surveillance of coastal water to improve productivity and enhance and availability of fish (Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, SBA, Karachi and Sanghar with cost of Rs.57.796 million is to be completed by June 2020
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, detail of work so far completed?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI: MINISTER FOR LIVESTOCK & FISHERIES:-
Yes
The scheme was approved under Annual Development Programme 2015-16 to 2017-18 at the total cost of Rs.57.796 million to be operated and implemented by two Directorates of Fisheries Sindh (i) Directorate of Fisheries Sindh, Inland Hyderabad (Rs.50.456m) and (ii) Directorate of Fisheries Sindh (Marine) Karachi (Rs.7.340m) with objectives to:
· Development of public waters through replenishment of 7.000 million fish seed.
· Human resource development regarding conservation measures.
· Surveillance of coastal waters to curb the illegal fishing.
The scheme has completed its development phase on June 2018.

Will the Minister for Livestock & Fisheries be pleased to State:-
(a) Is ita fact that project of construction of model village for fishermen at Hawksbay, Zero Point Badin, Manchhar Lake and Keenjhar Lake Thatta, with cost of Rs.481.825 million is to be completed till June 2020;
(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, present position of the same?
ANSWER
MR. MUHAMMAD ALI MALKANI: MINISTER FOR LIVESTOCK & FISHERIES:-
Yes
· It is fact that, a project namely “Model village for Fishermen at Hawksbay, Zero Point Badin, Manchar Lake & Keenjhar Lake Thatta was approved at the cost of Rs. 481.825 million under the ADP-2006-2007 to 2011.
· Four Model villages were to be constructed at four locations, Hawks bay Karachi, Badin, Jamshoro &Thatta.
· The Hawks bay Karachi was dropped from the scheme due to non-availability of plot.
· The scheme could not be completed due to remaining civil works carried out by Works & Services Department.
An amount of Rs. 466.680 million has been incurred up to 30.06.2024.
