What are the primary aims and objectives that the department has setup for the current year?

ANSWER

MR. RIAZ HUSSAIN SHAH SHEERAZI, MINISTER FOR AUQAF, RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS,ZAKAT& USHR:

PRIMARY AIMS AND OBJECTIVE SET BY THE DEPARTMENT FOR ALL WINGS ARE AS UNDER:-

AUQAF WING

1)      To enhance the facilities for zaireen at all shrines under the Administrative control of Auqaf Department.

2)      To uplift the work of shrines

3)      To maintain the Waqf Properties and to bring the existing rates upto the market values.

4)      To secure the revenue / collection from different income recourses and ensure timely deposit in the Government account.

5)      To complete development schemes by the end of this financial year. There are about (21) schemes likely to be completed by this year.

6)      To recover arrears and liabilities which are with tenants.

7)      Mutation of non-mutatedwaqf properties.

ZAKAT & USHR WING

1.      Transparently disburse Zakat Funds to deserving beneficiaries through respective heads of Zakat funds.

2.      Guzara Allowance: through Sindh Bank ATM Cards providing Rs.1000/- per month and 2000/ Eid Grant in addition to every year to the registered  beneficiaries

3.      Health Care : for the Free Medical treatment to the deserving patients.

4.      Marriage Assistance to unmarried women: providing Rs.30, 000/- beneficiary.

5.      Rehabilitation: providing Rs.10,000/- beneficiary (one time grant).

6.      DeeniMadaris Stipends to students in a registered DeeniMadaris.   

RELIGIOUS  AFFAIRS WING

To create tolerance; forbearance in Muslim Society.

To educate society of Islamic values.

To ensure religious and sectarian harmony in the society.

How does the department ensure transparency and accountability in the management of Auqaf properties?

ANSWER

MR. RIAZ HUSSAIN SHAH SHEERAZI, MINISTER FOR AUQAF, RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS,ZAKAT& USHR:

Since taking over the properties, all the Waqf Properties have been rented out. The circle-wise Managers of Waqf Properties are responsible for recovering rents on a monthly basis, issuing receipts to the tenants. The recovered amounts are deposited timely in the concerned branch of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and subsequently transferred to the government exchequer in the State Bank of Pakistan, in non-food Account No.1, sub Account C03870.

What measures are being taken to prevent misuse of resources of Auqaf and ensure their proper use?

The concerned Register for the recovery of rents, etc., of Waqf lands and buildings is being maintained by the Manager Auqaf in accordance with the West Pakistan Waqf Properties (Accounts) Rules, 1960. The Manager of the properties periodically visits the Waqf Properties to ensure their proper use.

(a)   Is it fact that a project Construction of Dispensary / Minor & Repairs attached Unit at DargahLuwari Sharif District Badin with cost of Rs. 96.126 million is to be completed by June, 2025;

(b)   If answer to (a) above is affirmative, details of work completed and amount   spent to date?

ANSWER

It is fact that ADP Scheme No. 45 regarding Construction of Dispensary / Minar & repair of attached unit at Dargah Luari Sharif District Badin, is in Progress.

The Total allocated cost Rs.96.126 (million) & an amount of Rs. 96.023 (million) has been incurred uptodate, and said scheme will be completed in June 2025.
