MALARIA.
No any Death case reported due to Malaria in district East-Karachi during the year 2018 to 2023.

(a) Is it a fact that due to vacant Position of Drug Inspector in District Malir, East, Keamari and South of Karachi, there is manufacturing and selling of counterfeit drugs/ medicines;
(b) If answer to (a) above is in affirmative, reasons thereof alongwith steps taken to fill the said vacant position?
ANSWER
DR. AZRA FAZAL PECHUHO: MINISTER FOR HEALTH: -
It is not fact that the posts of Drug Inspectors District Malir, East, Keamari and South of Karachi are lying vacant.The following Drug Inspectors are posted in the districts as mentioned in question.
(1) Mr. Tahir Ghaffar Khanzada
Provincial Inspector of drugs, District Malir Karachi.
(2) Mr. Ghulam Ali Lakho
Provincial Inspector of drugs, District East Karachi.
(3) Mr. Nafees Ur Rehman
Provincial Inspector of drugs, District Keamari Karachi.
(4) Mr. Sajid Ali Memon
Provincial Inspector of drugs, District South Karachi.
The Drugs Sales Establishment is regularly inspected by concerned Drug Inspector to check & ensure that no illegal / counterfeit drug is being sold.
All posts of Drug Inspectors are filled.

(a) Is it true that doctors appointed during the COVID-19 pandemic in Sindh are still on contract?
(b) If the answer to (a) above be in the affirmative, details thereof including their salaries and current assignment.
ANSWER
DR. AZRA FAZAL PECHUHO: MINISTER FOR HEALTH: -
No, it is not a fact, after the orders passed by the Honorable High Court of Sindh at Karachi dated 17.03.2023 and with the approval of the Honorable Chief Minister Sindh, Health Department referred the list of 823 Medical Officers (BS-17) (Male / Female) of COVID-19 doctors working in Health Department to the SPSC to ascertain their suitability in compliance of the Honorable Court order.
Pursuant to the recommendations received from SPSC, (522) successful candidates (390) Women Medical Officers (BS-17) and (132) Medical Officers (BS-17) / Covid-19 doctors have been issued offer of appointment letters.
Consequent upon acceptance of offer of appointment, they have been appointed on regular basis and posted at their district of domicile places.
Moreover, as per the approval of Provincial Cabinet, the extension period of COVID-19 doctors has also been expired on 30-06-2024 and after that no any extension allowed / granted to any COVID-19 doctor.

Is it fact that Paeds Ward of CDF Hospital Hyderabad has been given under LUMS Hyderabad but budget not granted furnish details thereof?

DR. AZRA FAZAL PECHUHO: MINISTER FOR HEALTH: -
No, it is not a fact, the C.D.F Hospital (including paeds ward) is not given under the LUMHS Hospital.In 2021, the C.D.F Hospital was affiliated with Bilawal Medical College (BMC) for Boys LUMHS Jamshoro with the approval of Health Department, Sindh.
During the year 2022, a 45 bedded Paeds wards was established at C.D.F Hospital with collaboration of BMC, LUMHS Jamshoro and HR is provided by BMC, Jamshoro.
However, C.D.F Hospital is providing all Medicines, Life Saving Medical Gas and Diet to the Paeds Ward affiliated with BMC, Jamshoro.

The details of Cardio centers working in districts is as under:
District Umerkot:
· Cardio Care Unit at DHQ Hospital, Umerkot.
· SICVD Chest Pain unit is working at Faqir Abdullah Dialysis Center.
District Tharparkar:
· SICVD Satellite Centre Mithi is working at DHQ (Civil Hospital).
District Sanghar:
One Cardiac facility is available at Shahdadpur Institute of Medical Science (SMIS) district Sanghar.
