(b) If answer to (a) above is affirmative, the reasons thereof?

No.
It is not fact that survey and regularization work of KatchiAbadis in Karachi has been stopped by the Government.

District-wise number of vacancies filled in KatchiAbadies department during 2023-24 upto December 2025 in Sindh including procedure followed?

During 2023-2024 upto December 2025 two appointments on deceased quota were made in Human Settlement Authority followed with all prescribed procedure and approval of Chief Secretary, Sindh (The details of appointees are at Annexure placed on the Table of the House).

What are the basic aims and scope of the department, the current government policy to enhance human settlements, including significant achievements of the department during last five years?

The Basic aims and scope of the department to provide the grant ownership rights to low-income residents living in KatchiAbadis across the province.
The last five year to achieve this objective, a number of KatchiAbadis has been officially notified for the provision of ownership rights to eligible occupants. The details of these notified KatchiAbadisare at Annexure placed on the Table of the House.

(a) Is it a fact that initiatives have been taken to provide low-cost housing to low-income people in the province;
(b) If answer to (a) above is in affirmative locations where new housing projects begin under public-private partnerships?

Yes, it is a fact.
Human Settlement Authority formerly Sindh KatchiAbadis Authority has taken initiative to provide low-cost housing for low-income people in the province.
But, Human Settlement Authority/ Sindh KatchiAbadis Authority have not provided the new housing project being under public private partnership. However, the Human Settlement Authority to provide the low-cost housing to low-income people as itself. The details of these low-cost housing are at Annexure Placed on the Table of Sindh.

What is the current policy for regularizing KatchiAbadis in Sindhalong with any survey on the population and number of KatchiAbadis as well as alternate accommodation or compensation for affected families during eviction?

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (CHIEF MINISTER): MINISTER FOR HUMAN SETTLEMENT: -
The current policy framework in Sindh is primarily governed by the Sindh KatchiAbadis Act 1987 as amended and implementation by the Human Settlement Authority. Regularization of KatchiAbadis is a continuous process under Sindh KatchiAbadis Act 1987 (Amended 2009).
According to the Human Settlement Authority / Sindh KatchiAbadis Authority the identified settlements are being surveyed, notified and ultimately granted legal tenure through lease deeds under the relevant acts, Regulation and Laws.
Human Settlement Authority / Sindh KatchiAbadis Authority not provide the alternate accommodation or compensation for affected families during the eviction.
