How does the Ministry support the restoration of illegally occupied minority properties?

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (CHIEF MINISTER) MINISTER FOR MINORITIES AFFAIRS:-

           

The Sindh Government had already passed the law which enacted through Sindh Assembly calling “The Sindh Protection of Communal Properties of Minorities Act 2013”

 

This Act prevent the unauthorized sale, transfer of acquisition of properties belonging to minority communities used for communal purpose without the approval of the provincial Government. Further evacuee Trust Properties Board also working on this issue.

What steps have been taken to ensure the fair distribution of land to minority communities under government schemes?

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (CHIEF MINISTER) MINISTER FOR MINORITIES AFFAIRS: -

 

Ministry of Minorities Affairs Department is playing its role within the mandate provided under the Sindh Government Rules of Business, 1986.

 

            The Board of Revenue Sindh (SRB) had already chalked out the policy of the fair distribution of land to needy people (landless haries) residing in Sindh.

How does the Ministry support minority women in gaining economic independence and access to employment?

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (CHIEF MINISTER) MINISTER FOR MINORITIES AFFAIRS: -

 

Ministry of Minorities Affairs Department is playing its rule within the mandate provided under the Sindh Government Rules of Business, 1986 and provide platform to address the issues & protect the constitutional rights of Minority. This Ministry facilitate Financial Assistance support to protect from falling below poverty line preferably to woman and disabled personalities.

 

Government of Sindh reserved 5% quota for Minorities and 15% quota for Women in Government employment.

Total number of worship places registered for minority communities as of 30th November 2025?

ANSWER

The Minorities Affairs Department has gathered/compiled details of worship places from various sources, including local administration and Hindu Panchayat heads across Sindh.

What is the current status of protection measures for temples, churches, and gurdwaras, including the number of police security personnel deployed as of 30th November 2025?

 

ANSWER

 

SYED MURAD ALI SHAH (CHIEF MINISTER) MINISTER FOR MINORITIES AFFAIRS: -

 

The Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973, guarantees equal rights to all citizens. It is clarified that no rule, policy, or practice of the provincial government is discriminatory against minority communities in any manner.

To ensure the security and protection of worship places, CCTV cameras have been installed at 253 sensitive religious sites across the province.

           

Facilitation Desks have been established at the Divisional level, both under the concerned department and the Police Department, to address issues faced by minority communities promptly and on the spot.

 

Minority Complaints Cells have been set up in police stations throughout Sindh to ensure swift registration and resolution of complaints pertaining to minorities.

 

This Department has signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) with legal Aid Society (LAS) and Pakistan Legal United Society (PLUS) to provide free Legal Assistance to Minorities in Sindh.

 

It is further submitted that this Department does not have provision to deploy the Security Guards for these sites. Instead, security arrangement is managed by Local Police upon request.
