A delegation of senior officers from the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), led by Chief Instructor Javed Zia, visited the Provincial Assembly of Sindh today and met with Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah.

A delegation of senior officers from the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), led by Chief Instructor Javed Zia, visited the Provincial Assembly of Sindh today and met with Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah.

 

The Speaker warmly welcomed the delegation and extended his best wishes. He said that the Sindh Assembly is the oldest legislative body in the country, which holds the distinction of having passed the historic Resolution of Pakistan.

 

Speaker said that this House is a symbol of democracy, tolerance and public representation from where the message of public welfare, inter-provincial harmony and national unity has always been promoted.

 

Upon arrival at the Assembly Secretariat, the delegation was received by Secretary Sindh Assembly G.M. Umar Farooq and Director General Media Irfan Ahmed Memon.

 

Secretary Sindh Assembly G.M. Umar Farooq gave a detailed briefing on the Assembly’s procedures, stages of legislation and the conduct of House business, while Director Legislation Muhammad Hanif responded to the officers’ queries.

 

After the briefing, the delegation was taken on a visit to the historic Old Assembly House, where they showed keen interest in the Assembly’s history and democratic traditions.

 

Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Awais Qadir Shah hosted a luncheon in honour of the visiting officers.

 

The delegation comprised officers from various federal and provincial institutions, including Abdul Ahad Memon, M. Mamoon Hameed Khan, Muhammad Yaqoob, Lt. (R) Abid Ali, Mumtaz Ahmed Langho, Abdul Zaheer, Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Mumtaz Ali Thebo, Asadullah, Nasir Khan, Basit Hussain, Sadia Ali Akram, Bahleem Bilqees Jan, Dr. Samiullah Soomro, Dadlo Zuhrani, Shahid Inayat Malik, Dawood Khan, Shakeel Ahmed, Faisal Ahsan Pirzada, Syed Ahmed Fawad, Lt. (R) Ghulam Murtaza Tabassum, Syed Irtaza Haider, Imran Bhatti, Syed Muhammad Ali, Junaid Ahmed, Tarique Manzoor, Manzoor Ahmed Bangulzai, Zulfiqar Ali and Muhammad Afzal.

 

Chief Instructor Javed Zia said that the study visit to the Sindh Assembly was an important component of their training program, providing officers with a valuable opportunity to understand legislation, parliamentary procedures and the functioning of democratic institutions more closely.

 

Chief Instructor NIPA Javed Zia presented a souvenir shield to Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Awais Qadir Shah, while Secretary Sindh Assembly G.M. Umar Farooq also presented commemorative shield to the visiting officers on behalf of the Assembly Secretariat.
