Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh Hosts Dinner in Honour of Iranian Speaker; Agrees on Strengthening Parliamentary Relations and Mutual Cooperation

Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Syed Awais Qadir Shah, hosted a dinner in honour of Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Honorable Speaker of the Islamic Parliament of Iran, and the accompanying high-level delegation.

 

The dinner was attended by Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed, Provincial Minister for Law and Home Affairs Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Ministers Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, Syed Zulfiqar Shah, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Dr. Shamsunder Advani, Giyan Chand Israni, and other members of the Sindh Assembly along with distinguished guests.

 

Addressing the gathering, Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah said that Iran and Pakistan share centuries-old religious, cultural, and historical ties. He remarked that the two countries are not only neighbours but true brothers, bound together by strong bonds of mutual respect, friendship, and shared values.

 

Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah added that Iran was the first country to recognize Pakistan, a gesture that remains a source of pride and gratitude. Speaker Awais Qadir Shah expressed his appreciation for Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf’s visit to Karachi, calling it an honour for the Sindh Assembly.

 

In his remarks, Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Parliament of Iran, said that visiting Pakistan was a matter of great pride for him. He appreciated the warmth, sincerity, and hospitality extended to him and his delegation, stating that Iran and Pakistan are united through the bonds of Islamic brotherhood, which promote regional peace, development, and cooperation.

 

Dr. Ghalibaf further emphasized the need to accelerate joint efforts for trade, economic collaboration, and regional stability to usher in a new era of progress and prosperity in the region.

 

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Awais Qadir Shah presented a commemorative Legacy Shield of the Sindh Assembly to Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, along with the traditional Sindhi Ajrak and Cap as souvenirs.

 

Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed and Provincial Ministers Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, and Syed Zulfiqar Shah also presented traditional Sindhi Ajraks and Caps to the members of the Iranian delegation, further strengthening the spirit of friendship and cultural ties between the two brotherly nations.
