Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh Syed Awais Qadir Shah attends the 2nd day of Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference in Islamabad

Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh Syed Awais Qadir Shah attended the second day of the first Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference in Islamabad.

 

The second day began with a keynote speech by Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, followed by the commencement of the general debate by the Chair.

 

Speakers and heads of various delegations spoke on the theme “Peace, Security, and Development,” sharing their respective countries’ perspectives.

 

Speakers from several countries condemned the suicide blast in Islamabad and expressed condolences to Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

 

The Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference concluded with a closing address by Chairman Senate of Pakistan and Founding Chairman ISC Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, who spoke about the terror attack that occurred in Islamabad on 11th November and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism.

 

Chairman Senate and Founding Chairman ISC Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani thanked all dignitaries, speakers, and parliamentarians for attending the first-ever Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference.

 

The conference concluded with the reading of the “Islamabad Communique” by Founding Chairman ISC Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, a declaration based on the two-day debate, signed by all speakers, heads of delegations, and parliamentarians. The declaration emphasized collective commitment to peace, security, and development, and to combat Islamophobia, xenophobia, and all forms of bias based on race or religion, while upholding justice and equality.
