Mr. Jamshed Kazi, Country Representative UN Women, called on Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Syed Awais Qadir Shah, at his office today.

Mr. Kazi was accompanied by Saman Ahsan, Waqar Ul Shams, and Zeeshan Hussain. Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah was accompanied by Secretary Assembly G.M. Umar Farooq and DG Assembly Irfan Ahmed Memon.

During the meeting, Mr. Kazi highlighted that parliamentary governance is his core area of interest and informed the Speaker that UN Women is working with all legislative assemblies in Pakistan and is keen to collaborate with the Provincial Assembly of Sindh.

Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah assured full support of the Assembly for any future partnership or joint initiatives. They also discussed the role of women in the age of Artificial Intelligence, along with potential trainings for women parliamentarians on post-legislative scrutiny and the use of AI.

Mr. Kazi thanked the Speaker for his time and assured maximum cooperation and support for future linkages.

The Speaker honoured the delegation with the Legacy Shield of Sindh Assembly, along with a Sindhi cap and Ajrak.
