Subject: RESOLUTION.
I am to state that the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Thursday, the 09th May, 2024 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Ms. Sadia Javed, MPA:
This House condemns the violent riots instigated by a former political party (PTI) on May 9, 2023. We recognize May 9, as a dark day in Pakistan's history, when a criminal arrest was exploited to unleash widespread destruction and chaos. Pakistan's critical defense installations were attacked, national memorial heritage sites were vandalized, and innocent civilians were killed and robbed.
The May 9 incident was only the beginning. In its aftermath, our country was subjected to a systematic campaign of isolation, with malicious and reckless statements made about our allies and friendly nations. Moreover, letters were sent to international financial institutions, including the IMF, in an attempt to economically destabilize and bankrupt Pakistan.
This House of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh is of the view that May 9 incident was a carefully planned and deliberate conspiracy Further more, This House urge the Government to hold the architects and all individuals involved in the May 9 tragedy accountable, ensuring that such reprehensible acts are never repeated in Pakistan.
