Subject: RESOLUTION.
I am to state that the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Thursday, the 22nd May, 2025 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Saeed Ghani, Minister for Local Government & Housing Town Planning, Sindh, Mr. Ali Khurshidi, MPA/ Leader of Opposition, Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Mr. Muhammad Farooq, MPA, Mr. Abdul Waseem, MPA, Mr. Taha Ahmed Khan, MPA, Mr. Muhammad Rehan Rajput, MPA, Mr. Mahesh Kumar Hasija, MPA and Mr. Muhammad Shabbir, MPA:
“This House of the Sindh Assembly strongly condemns the cowardly and unlawful attack on the residence of Sindh Home Minister Zia ul Hassan Lanjar in Naushahro Feroze by elements of a nationalist group with connivence and help/ instigation of local political leaders.
This House affirms that while peaceful protest is a constitutional and democratic right, the use of violence, arson, and intimidation against public representatives and state institutions is nothing short of domestic terrorism. Such actions pose a direct threat to the rule of law, public order, and democratic stability in the Province.
This House:
1. Expresses full solidarity with the Honourable Home Minister and condemns this malicious act aimed at spreading chaos and fear;
2. Demands that law enforcement agencies take immediate and decisive action to identify, arrest, and prosecute all those involved in this violent attack and their facilitators.
3. Reiterates that the State will not tolerate hooliganism under the guise of political activism;
4. Affirms that all democratic rights must be exercised within the bounds of law, and any attempt to challenge the writ of the state will be met with full force and legal action.
This House stands united in its commitment to upholding peace, law, and democratic governance in Sindh and Pakistan at large.
