WHEREAS, this House, on the occasion of the 58thFoundation Day of the Pakistan Peoples Party, pays rich tribute to the Party’s founder and former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who rendered the ultimate sacrifice for the cause of the people, democracy, and democratic values in the country; and

 

WHEREAS, by upholding the supremacy of the Constitution, the law, and Parliament, they ensured that through the principle of “one person, one vote,” the authority to decide the nation’s futurerests solely with the people, thereby affirming that the real source of power is the people themselves; and

 

WHEREAS, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, adhering to democratic principles, founded the Pakistan Peoples Party on 30 November 1967 in Lahore and gave the slogan of “Roti, Kapra aur Makaan,” and bestowed upon the nation a unanimously-approved Constitution that clearly defined the balance of powers between the Federation and the provinces; and

 

WHEREAS, under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Pakistan Peoples Party continues to advance and uphold its manifesto and legacy; and

 

WHEREAS, the 18thAmendment, provincial autonomy, and the rightful provincial shares under the NFC Award are essential guarantees for the rights, dignity, and unity of the people of Sindh;

 

Therefore, this House solemnly reaffirms its pledge to protect, without compromise, the restored Constitution of 1973 as envisioned by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, including the 18thAmendment, provincial autonomy, and the provincial share under the NFC Award; and

 

Furthermore, this House expresses its firm commitment to resist and counter all attempts or conspiracies aimed at undermining the unity, integrity, and historic rights of the province of Sindh.
