I am to state that the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in its sitting held on Wednesday, the 26th November, 2025 has unanimously passed the following Resolution moved by Mr. Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister, Sindh:
CONDOLENCE RESOLUTION ON THE DEMISE OF AFTAB SHABAN MIRANI
This House expresses its deepest sorrow and profound grief over the passing away of Mr. Aftab Shaban Mirani, a senior statesman, veteran parliamentarian, and former Chief Minister of Sindh, whose decades-long public service left an enduring imprint on the political history of the province and the country.
WHEREAS, Mr. Aftab Shaban Mirani dedicated his life to the service of the people of Sindh and Pakistan through his long and distinguished political career;
AND WHEREAS, he served with honour and distinction as a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Provincial Minister, Chief Minister of Sindh, Member of the National Assembly, Federal Minister and as a leading figure of the Pakistan Peoples Party, displaying exemplary commitment to democratic values, federalism, and the rights of the people of Sindh;
AND WHEREAS, Mr. Aftab Shaban Mirani was renowned for his unwavering loyalty, steadfast commitment, and lifelong devotion to the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party, including Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari; and he consistently stood by the Party during its most challenging times, strengthening its democratic struggle and upholding its ideological foundations;
AND WHEREAS, he was widely respected for his integrity, wisdom, humility, and deep understanding of political and administrative affairs, earning him recognition across party lines;
AND WHEREAS, his passing marks the end of an era in Sindh’s political landscape and represents a great loss not only to his family but also to the people of Sindh, the Pakistan Peoples Party, and the nation;
NOW, THEREFORE, THIS HOUSE RESOLVES THAT:
1. The Provincial Assembly of Sindh places on record its deep appreciation of the invaluable services rendered by Mr. Aftab Shaban Mirani in various capacities throughout his distinguished career.
2. The House acknowledges his lifelong loyalty and support to the Pakistan Peoples Party and its leadership, and his pivotal role in strengthening democratic institutions in the country.
3. The House conveys its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prays to Almighty Allah to grant the departed soul a high place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and to give patience and strength to his loved ones to bear this irreparable loss.
4. The House directs that this Resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. Aftab Shaban Mirani as a mark of respect and recognition of his lifelong contributions to Sindh, Pakistan, and the Pakistan Peoples Party.
